Why?
Why Clear Channel gotta own all the radio?
Jadakiss' "Why?" just might the summer song (although Nina Sky appears to have pole position) and given that its the 04, no surprise its political. The surprise is that its Jada, always a second rank gansta in my book, cooked it. And make no mistake the gansta is there deliriously sliced in with the political, seamless. "Why they let the Terminator win the election?" No doubt, say it 'kiss.
Course Clear Channel holds half the hip hop stations cross the nation. And if you tune in there is a line "Why did *bleep* knock down the towers?"
And behind that bleep? "Why did Bush knock down the towers?"
Why is "Bush" a word you can't say on the radio?

Posted by: adruu on June 27, 2004 07:28 PMPerhaps Clear Channel considers "Bush" an obscenity?
Nah, that's too much to hope for.
Posted by: the Other michael on June 28, 2004 09:12 AMJadakiss did it on that cut. I think Bush is bleeped out not because of the name but the content in which it was being used. I think if he said why don't we all vote for bush, that would not be bleeped. They will only allow certain info to hit your ears.
peace
Posted by: dee mee on July 6, 2004 03:16 PMIf the song said why did Bush burn the Jews in Auschwitz it would be bleeped as well. Some things are such an outrageous and inflammatory lie that they deserve to be bleeped. If on of you owned a radio station than you would be free to play the song unbleeped. Clear Channel made their decision and I agree with it.

If you believe that Bush knocked down the towers, you are either insane or a complete idiot, and you can thank the Democrats for getting you there.

or maybe it doesnt require a democrat to point out the destruction of our democracy by the bush administration.
btw.. GNN is all over this, they make their point well.
i personally think its right.. bush did have a hand in it... he did fly osama's family out of the nation on a private plane.. and his cronies in the house hold votes open until they can threaten their fellow representatives into voting their way and shafting the public.
Posted by: awehr on July 13, 2004 01:56 PMThe real issue here is censorship. Whether you agree/disagree, are offended, are angered or overjoyed from the message of a song is totally irrelevant. Wake up people! It's called FREEDOM OF SPEECH, an unalienable right. The fact that we differ in viewpoint or opinion on issues is what drives our culture. If we all we carbon copy drones and all thought and spoke exactly alike we would have no market or competition of any kind. How could we learn anything, we learn from our differences with each other. Just because you don't like what someone says does not mean you have the right to block the message. It might not be the right message for you, but maybe it is for someone else. True freedom is being able to speak your mind no matter what it is you are saying. This is the land of the free!
Posted by: Media Freak on July 13, 2004 03:50 PMclear channel is based in san antonio texas...it's that simple why they did it
same reason that disney refused to distribute farenheit 9/11, out of fear of his brother jeb, who is the gov of fla.
not that it helped much
Jadakiss is right!
Bush did knock down the towers, and the evidence is readily available. I encourage everyone to visit www.911truth.org and read “The New Pearl Harbor” by David Ray Griffin. I can’t thank Jada enough for having the courage to stand up and speak the truth like he did.
I really think that the americans need to calm the hell down. seriously! i'm from Toronto, and here in Canada , they don't bleep out "Bush", but when i was in Washington D.C. a few weeks ago, they bleeped it out.
Personally, i'm really happy that Jada did that song, and put that part in it. Americans want to run away from the truth so badly, and try to bleep EVERYTHING out ALL the time. Jada asked every single question that every person around the world, including Americans, have of their minds. He's just a famous singer and said what was needed to be said! Music should have a good, serious message. No one cares if Nelly wants 2 pairs of air force ones..or Britney did it again..or why Phat Joe needs to lean back!!!
- POLITICS IS DIRTY
Jadakiss is a jackass he has no right to blame Bush for 9/11. It is crazy how Americans hate their own government - the best and most powerful in the world. I wont ever listen to his music again. You gotta be careful of what u say!
Posted by: All-Knowing on August 9, 2004 11:41 PMI am glad they took out that line. It was stupid. Anyone who thinks Bush was behind the 9/11 attacks needs a brain and an education.
I am sick of these leftwing anti-Bush people blaming him for this. Now it's even in gangsta rap. These people couldn't hold a note if you put a gun to their heads. They have no talent what-so-ever and now they are going to put down my president? I don't think so.
Bush is the man!
Posted by: Billy Kess on August 15, 2004 04:03 AMGansta rap is just God's way of taking money from the dumbest people in the land and giving it to the second-dumbest set of people in the land.
It is a handy tool for perpetuating stupidity and poverty in the same location, as well as selling a lot of spinning chrome hubcaps.

I posted a second on to include my e-mail address, I wanna see what you have to say about this...
Posted by: Hater Hater on November 3, 2004 05:40 PMI can't believe how many people are willing to turn a blind eye to the truth? Bush and the US government had a huge hand in how 9/11 went down!!! WAKE UP!!! I'm sure I'm one of the few nutcase conspiracy theorists just because I see the truth. I guess the Patriot Act is all good too, huh. I guess open borders and less Border Patrol to protect our nation is ok too.
I love how everyone can believe every single word said by a man who brags about not reading and can barely make a coherent speech. Wow. I guess you people who dislike the lyric approve of the slaughter of Iraqi citizens and the strippage of our civil liberties. And as for the Terminator, let's not get into that racist son of a Nazi.
Billy and the person who posted below him obviously feel that blacks and other minorities are stupid. Hey, I think country music sucks, but I wouldn't call every single person who listens to it a retard. You people should realize that making comments like that makes you the real fool. But hey, the country was founded by racist people, so why not accept that as the truth about blacks and other minorities.
I guess you people will finally get it after you get your national ID card, your microchips, your mercury shots, and are drafted to fight some other pointless war.
Oh, yeah, Bush did knock down the towers.
Posted by: Open Eyez on November 16, 2004 10:33 PMIf you like this one line in a Jadakiss song, you can listen to almost any song by Immortal Technique. He is an extremely intelligent, revolutionary hip-hop artist and remains in the underground, perhaps why many of you haven't heard of him. His most recent "Bin Laden" is a good song if you want to get a taste of the artist.
Thank me later.

Posted by: TEPMOC on May 3, 2005 06:53 AMNeglect. That is the what happened on 9/11. I agree that Bush had a "hand"(although small) in what happened; but to say that he knocked down the towers is pure ignorance.
